Alana Reale, Composer

Alana Reale is a composer and multi-instrumentalist specializing in music for visual media. Originally from New Hampshire and now based in New York, she has scored a variety of festival-circuit documentary and narrative films.

Alana is a classically trained cellist and pianist. She embraces this but pushes beyond traditional bounds. She creates beautiful sounds, familiar sounds, warped and weird sounds. She finds sounds, breaks down sounds, puts sounds back together again. She transforms directors' ideas into sonic colors and textures that bring their stories to life.
